Reinforcements have arrived...
It has been awhile since the last post.
Kati & Teddy's mate, Harri, came on Monday for a surprise visit. He's been living in Australia for about 30 yrs. It was funny to hear him speak Finnish. We decided to go ahead and plan a fishing day for Tuesday. Harri would come and pick us up around 7AM. Had to go bed early, so we could even have a chance to get up!
The Tuesday morning was cold, only +15 - FREEZING! Harri came and drive to Semaphore's beach began. The drive took us near 30 mins. The view that opened from the end of the street was divine. Semaphore pier is 500 meters long, and the end catches wind quite a lot. On the way to our spot we saw a rare seal on the side! It was rolling and playing around in the sea.
After couple of hours our catch was three blue crabs and lost of baits, wasn't much. We gathered our stuff and went to grab some breakkie! Miko finally got his blueberry pancakes, which weren't as good tough as in NYC - luckily we'll be getting there too! :)
We got home around 1PM and prepared the crabs. Put the crabs into boiling water, wait for the water to boil again & time 10mins. You've cooked yourself tasty crabs! ;P Cooking is easy as ABC, but eating harder than Chinese algebra.
After Teddy & Kati got home from work, we had a quick bite to eat and headed off to the West of Adelaide. Saw some beaches and enjoyed the sun.
Last night the rest of our crew arrived, Kati's bridesmaids Maija & Sanna and Sanna's husband and little 7 months old baby girl - CUTE! In couple of hours Tomi, the last piece of our crew puzzle is here and we're ready ! AWESOME.
That's it for now.

It's KINECTIC TIME !
Yesterday was fun. The sun came out after two days of rain. Was nice to get some water for the earth, has been so dry summer - which is very common in Australia. Miko and I went with Teddy & Kati to a mountain where they bouldered. The hike steep and long, but the view on the top was breathtaking. There was a couch that two drunk and/or big guys had carried all the way up the hill! You'll see from one of the pics that was taken just before we were heading down, it's crazy steep!
After the climb we stopped by at Teddy' mom' house to pick up tennis rackets, which unfortunately weren't there but instead we got X-box and Kinect! AWESOME!!! :) On the way home we still stopped again at grocery store to get some kangaroo to barbecue on Kati & Teddy's new BBQ!
Dinner was yummy!
Once everyone had eaten we started burning those calories including pre-dinner chocolate donut with a whopping 450cal. We probably played at least 3hours so thats got to be dinners worth of calories or more?!

WE'RE HAVING A BABY...
It's been a pretty good day so far. Oh, you already know about the afternoon. :)
After Miko's dad got his hair done we wondered around the mall and had lunch. Before lunch we found out that we're gonna have a furry baby later this year.
IT'S SO FLUFFY !
Needed to come back early to be ready when Kati & Teddy get home. We went to the Ferrari, formalwear, to get groom's, bestman's, Miko's and his dad's tuxedos rented. Kati and her mum were at the Tea Tree Plaza Mall, so we joined them in finding a dress for Kati's mum. Me and Miko departed from the rest of the crew and bought 13 shirts. :) Yup, 13 for ONLY $100. And that's like 75€!!!
Now we're at home, starting to play some Wii. Gotta hit the sack early, Miko'll go to the doctor tomorrow for his leg, probably needs x-rays, and I'll get my hair done; color and cut - finally !
Enjoy!

Have a break
Hello-hello!
The couple days have been very laid back. Yesterday we went down to the city to drop off Kati's wedding ring to be matched to engagement ring and to be cleaned. There were four of us trying to find the place and still it took awhile. After spending the afternoon in the city, Kati picked us up to go to dinner for Teddy's mom's b-day! Got to taste all kinds of Chinese food; duck, chicken, beef, clams etc. Everything was delicious! After enjoying the dinner we drove to the beach to close Teddy's older brother's restaurant, which is located at the pier - amazing view! It was pretty dark at the time, but we'll get some pictures for you guys some other day. :)
I'm attending Naisten 10 (women's 10 km) in May, so I've started to work out in the mornings. It's kind of tough, the weather being +30 but man's gotta do what man's gotta do. Has been fun, trying to get Miko into too, though his leg still bothering him he can't really do that much.
Anyways, it's time to go. Heading to the mall.

Adelaide
We've finally arrived in Adelaide. It has been a long drive here.
Yesterday we said bye-byes to our last camping area, which in fact was the best, and headed off to The Grampians National Park. The way there was very bumpy and windy. We were on our way across the park's parking lot when Miko spotted a wallaby, a tiny little kangaroozi. It's was so cute and curious! :)
After many pictures we started our climb almost to the top of the mountain, to the spot where Kati & Teddy were bouldering. Spent couple of hrs admiring those weird positions everyone was making on the boulder.
On the way to Adelaide we stopped in Horsham to grab a quick, very-late lunch. The drive was, once again, pretty long but the feeling when we got to bed was worth it. :)
Gonna get some tan, have fun in -22 degrees!

@ warrnambool
We spent last night in EDEN. We were driving late and were lucky to find a camping area that would take us in. Powered site $31, not too expensive. I was on my way to bathroom, but couldn't go in 'cause there was a HUGE cockroach! OMG.
Today's Wednesday and we're staying in Sale, camping are called Sale Motor Village. Here's wireless internet without time limit - AWESOME! Todays' drive included Orbost, Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale, and the famous Ninety Mile Beach!
Miko's trying to hurry me up, 'cause he's starting to cook. We bought beef eye round steaks and rice, it's gonna be yummy! (Need to focus on him for a bit, taking a video of him cooking. :D)
Tomorrow's (Wednesday) plan is to drive straight to Melbourne, shop a little and carry on somewhere. We'll be posting along the way.. Anytime when internet is available!
Melbourne was huge! There is so much to see, and we got only so little time. Spent there only 2 hrs and got nowhere. Would recommened going without an campervan, it's kind of pain in butt to try to park it. The height of our car is 2,5m and the maximum height for the parking places was 2,1m.
Geelong the second biggest city in Victoria, was very small when compared to Melbourne. We spent our Thu-Fri night in Geelong, and the places we saw were pretty. If any one of you is planning a trip to Australia, could probably recommend taking time to go down. Almost anything along the famous Great Ocean Road is gorgeous!
Okay, so now (Friday the 11th) we're at Port Campbell, somewhere along Great Ocean Road. Today we have seen light houses, more picture perfect views; shores, rainforests, water falls.. Got to go down to the Twelve Apostoles and see a Thunder Hole. You'll see the picture right away when I figure picture posting out.. The pics just don't post. Annoying.
We just ate very well and are on our way to bed. It's just 9PM, but that's our usual time for bed. That way we're able to get up way early, 6-7AM, and get the most of the day - SUN!
Tomorrow (Saturday the 12th) will be an easy day. Short drive up to Warrambool and chill out there. Might drive already up to The Grampians National Park. We'll meet Miko's sister, Kati and her soon to be husband, Teddy, on Sunday for a lunch. Exciting! :)
Sorry for the delay of these posts. The wifi at the camping area didn't work at our comp. :( Buu! But hope you enjoy.

Will the road trip begin...
It's going to be a long post this time. Trying to catch up with staff that has happened. Okay, so let's get into it.
Yesterday, Monday the 7th, woke up pretty early to get in time to pick up our campervan. Took the train down to Mascot. Sydney's Central Station doesn't really have too much information.. Where to go and where to find the right lanes.. Anyways, got there quick.
Got the van and jumped in, just to realize that it's not automatic as promised. Janina was not very happy with the change, but got over it and dealt with it. Now she's been doing a pretty good with the left-handed driving. We drove to the nearest sport bar, called The Intersection, to watch SuperBowl and took of heading to Nowra.
The Grand Pacific Drive ^
Wollongong Harbour ^
Nowra, our first over-night stop, is a Aboriginal word meaning black cocatoo - a bird. The camping area, Shoalhaven Caravan Village, at first glance was okay-ish. The "landlord" was pretty nice, trying to joke. :) Bathrooms were surprisingly tidy! Would recommened the camping area for anyone around New South Wales (NSW).
Time on the road has been fun, though pretty expensive - but it's all worth it. ;) We have seen amazingly picture perfect views (Grand Pacific Drive including Wollongong..), met almost too friendly people and eaten burgers with beetroot in them! Behind every turn of Princes Highway there's a new scenic drive and with me driving, I would stop all the time to take pictures without Miko telling me to keep driving. :D (But I'll make sure we'll post those gorgeous pictures on facebook when got time.)

Surf's Up (or was..)
Just arrived to our hostel from the amazing surfcamp hosted by MojoSurf Australia. It took us 6hrs to get to the camp and surely back to the city. It seemed like a crazy idea to travel 6 hrs to a beach, but when finally there we knew it was all worth it. A delicate Nobby beach to ourselves - unbelieveable. Our surf instructors (Pubes, Taylor, Linton..) and the whole MojoStaff were very mellow and chill.
I twisted my ankle although I didn't exactly hurt it as much as my pinky toe but regardless where it hurts. the b!tch is swollen like spanish kid's birthday piñata :)
Any who..did manage to get on top of the board couple times, only to realize that i missed the wave completely.
Janina on the otherhand had more fun, since i only managed to participate 1 of 3 surf lessons. Though I came very bravely down to the beach to chill out. We wondered around the beach and found all kinds of "things" including blue bottles, crabs and a little octopus. The food at the camp was delicious, thanks to our cooks: Max, Maryo & Roy the BBQ expert. :)
The weekend was relaxing, but exhausting. Good to catch some eye before tomorrow's 45th SUPERBOWL. GO GREEN BAY ! ( I know they won... )

Slip, Slop & Slap
Okay, so we have hace two great days in Sydney city! It has been warm-ish (=HOT) +35 at daytime and dropping to +28 at night. Humidity has been awful, near to 80%.
Right now it's Friday morning, 8:44 AM. We just got back from breakfast at Subway. There are only few breakfast places where you can get sandwiches and coffee, guessing that's the most common breakfast people are having in Sydney. We have been craiving for good old oatmeal and scrambled eggs, but haven't found a place.
Yesterday was a more humid, clody day. Though it was warm around +30. We got up early, around 7AM and went to grab breakfast at Charlie Lovett's. Decided to walk more towards west Sydney. We ended up in Darling Harbour, Shopping Center. What a surprise, HUH!? :P Have been walking a lot! Yesterday for like 10 hrs and the day before for a good 10 hrs too.
Last night was really good! Got to see THE GIRLS, Anna & Lotta. It was pretty unbelievable to see friends all the way from Finland, in Sydney. Also, we found a dress for me to wear at Kati's wedding.
( Miko needs to infrom you all that his head is burning red. )
Right now we need to check out from the hostel and find thongs for Miko. The bus to our surf camp leaves at 5:15PM. I'm way excited! I'll try to get Miko post on Sunday about our camp.
xo,
J
PS. Tried to upload pictures, but the application blacked out. We'll post them on Sunday.
PPS. On Wednesday we walked through a city garden and saw like 1000 of BATS. They were HUGE.

MORO

It took 2 sleepless nights, 4 airports, 3 flights and only 30 hrs to get to down under. On the way we ate 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches and numerous snacks. The aircraft-tv was okay, both of us had already seen most of the movies on there. Miko almost got sent back home, 'cause he misread the custom documents. Luckily the custom officer was on a good-mood and we were on our way to the hostel again. Miko wants to let you guys know that the officer wasn't cute - at all.
The hostel, Wake Up Sydney, seems pretty nice. The room is okay sized with a tv. Now, after eaten overpriced sandwichez, we are off to the bar for a nightcap or two.
Can't wait to get to bed and wake up tomorrow for our first day in Sydney!

Miko got excited after discovering the chocolate bar. :)
